Paul Arvin, Annuity Product Manager
Paul began in the insurance industry in 1993, providing brokerage services in non-traditional locations. He has spent the last 14 years working with insurance and investments, with a primary focus on retirement plans and products for the last 7 years. Currently, Paul hold his 6, 63, and 7 licenses with the NASD and is insurance licensed. Paul resides in the Oklahoma City area with his wife and 3 sons.
Andrew Bass, Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research
Andrew is the Administrator of the Personnel Review Section of the bureau of Legislative Research which provides staff support, information, and analysis of personnel related matters to the Personnel Classification and Compensation Subcommittee of the Legislative Council and Joint Budget Committee and the General Assemble. Andrew has worked for the state of Arkansas for almost 30 years including the Department of Health, Department of Human Services, Department of Finance and Administration and Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.
Karen Barnhill, Office of Personnel Management
Karen is the Administrator for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) at the Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration.
Kathleen McComber, MA, SPHR
Kathleen is currently the Senior Director of Human Resource for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas she joined UAMS in June, 2002. Prior to that, she was Corporate Vice President of Human Resources for Edgewater in Fayetteville, AR. for five years, prior to this position she held various executive human resources positions in retail, information technology and human resource consulting.
In her current position, she is responsible for the human resource function in the UAMS Medical Center, which employs over 2800, as well as campus responsibility for compensation, recruitment, education and organizational development, diversity, and performance management for 9500 employees
Ms. McComber has over 30 years experience in the human resource profession and has done extensive work in the areas of compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance leadership, diversity and organizational development twenty of those at the senior level in the organization.
She is a member of the Central Arkansas Human Resource Association and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where she was on the national board for seven years, having served as Chair in 1998. Kathleen holds a lifetime certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and has served a four-year term on their national board. She served six years on the SHRM Foundation Board where she served as Chair in 2003.
She holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Arkansas and an M.A. in Management from Webster University. She is on the faculty of John Brown University and Webster University teaching leadership and human resource courses.
Mary Anne Wildman, MS, PT
After graduation Mary Anne worked as a Research Technologist at St Jude Children’s research hospital in Memphis for 7 years. After getting married and having a child she became a full time homemaker until the family moved to Little Rock. Mary Anne returned to work as a research technologist at UAMS for 2 years and returned to school at UCA to obtain her physical therapy degree.
After graduation Mary Anne Wildman worked at St Vincent Medical Center for 8 years, the last 5 years in outpatient where she worked with a 50 % geriatric population. For the past year, Mary Anne has work in The Center for Aging at UAMS where she works with a 90% geriatric population specializing in balance and vestibular rehab.
Originally from Memphis, married for 23 years and the proud parent of a 21 year old daughter. Mary Anne enjoys reading, crafts and yoga. Mary Anne is currently training to become a yoga instructor.
